**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 268 is. We know that 100% of 268 is, well, just 268.**Step 2:**If 100% of 268 is 268, then we can get 1% of 268 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 268 / 100. This is equal to 2.68. Now we know that 1% is 2.68.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 268 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 2.68 times 1 = 2.68. That's all there is to it!
